Soap With Superpowers

Vitamin E drop

I'm not sure if you have noticed or not; in the list of ingredients on the back of every bar of soap I make, I always include vitamin E. Seems like not a big deal, right? I mean, it's just a vitamin, and they are everywhere. But did you know that vitamin E has superpowers when it comes to your skin, which is the largest organ in your body? What is vitamin E? It is a fat-based molecule that occurs naturally in our skin; however, our skin benefits from topical vitamin E application. How? It moisturizes skin cells to lie flat and even on the skin, making your skin feel super soft and supple. Vitamin E also brings antioxidant benefits to the table by fighting off signs of aging. This antioxidant cannot shield your skin from UV rays. Still, it can help prevent UV-induced free radical damage that has been done by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. It also works as an emollient by helping to support a healthy skin barrier by preventing dryness and supporting healthy skin. So this ingredient that is so often overlooked and not given a second thought packs a powerful punch when it comes to skincare.
