Oils and Butters Stats
Here is a list of frequently used oils and butters used in the Soap Mill at Salem House Provisions.

Apricot Kernal Oil- lightweight and conditioning to the skin. Produces small bubbles in cold process soap
Avocado Oil- thick and rich oil, high in vitamins A, B, D, and E, conditioning for the skin
Castor Oil- thick oil that draws moisture to the skin, wonderful lather, and binds fragrances in soap
Cocoa Butter- this butter adds a luxurious and moisturizing feel to cold-process soap
Coconut Oil- this oil is super cleansing and produces large billowy bubbles
Evening Primrose Oil- lightweight and moisturizing, excellent for dry skin
Grapeseed Oil- lightweight, silky feeling
Jojoba Oil- actually a liquid wax, humectant and adds a silky feel to soap
Mango Butter- adds rich silkiness to soap
Oat Oil- absorbs quickly and adds moisture to the skin; rich in fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E
Olive Oil- thick moisturizing oil that creates a creamy lather
Palm Oil- adds a unique feel to cold-process soap and lathers when paired with coconut oil
Rice Bran Oil- rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, thick moisturizing consistency, small bubbles
Shea Butter- feels luxurious and moisturizing in cold process soap
Sunflower Oil- is rich in fatty acids and Vitamin E and has an incredible conditioning lather
Sweet Almond Oil contains fatty acids with lightweight and moisturizing properties.
In addition to oils and butters in Salem Soap Mill products, I use numerous extracts (aloe, chamomile, oat), different clays, and colloidal oats. These ingredients enhance and boost the product's performance and deliver more moisture and healing to your skin.
